What does the lanyard colors mean?
Within our group, we prioritize consent in all things. From encouraging people to only participate in events that they feel compelled to join in with to forms of greeting with friends or new acquaintances. The lanyards are an unspoken method that we use to communicate greeting comfort levels, as well as to point out our volunteers.
Purple- this represents a member of teacher team.
These are the ONLY people that should be answering educational questions. Matters of opinion are completely different. Those are ok to be shared as long as they are stated as opinion or part of a personal practice.
Green- This person is ok with hugs/ handshakes (or whatever they dictate) as a form of greeting
Yellow- Ask before approaching with any form of touch when greeting.
Red- This person does not want to be touched.
We require that you respect that.
Orange- This individual cannot (for whatever reason) consent to being touched. Do not touch this individual without the consent of their caretaker or guardian. If you do, you will be asked to leave the event immediately.
And the stickers?
The stickers were added for our in group event in 2024, originally in a playful manner, the stickers have evolved to a form of nonverbal communication. Just as our lanyards tell people things, so do our stickers.
Spicy peppers and vanilla beans-
This has to do with NSFW conversations.
if you encourage “spicy” conversation, pick a pepper.
If not, you have the option to choose no sticker or an adorable vanilla bean.
Stars-
Color does not matter with our stars.
Any star means you would like to practice readings/ you would like to give readings.
Circles-
Color does not matter with our circles.
Any circle means you would like to receive a reading.
